Description: أثار هذا الكتاب عند صدوره في عام 2002 اهتمام الصحافة العربية والغربية نظراً لدحضه وجود شرخ بين الشرق والغرب، إذ يسعى إلى فك رموز هذا “الهذيان” وتفكيك مقوماته من خلال نقد أهم مقولات كل من الفكر الغربي والفكر العربي أو الإسلامي، اللذين أضحيا أسيرَيْ هذه الجدلية العقيمة المفروضة عليهما. ويفند المبررات و”الأكاذيب” التي أدت إلى ترسيخ هذا التصور “الموهوم” واستلهمت مفاهيمها من غرب “لاهوتي” بروتستانتي وشرق مسلم “سلفي”. كما يصرّ على نقد المقومات الأساسية للثقافة الغربية” النرجسية” التي تستوحي روحيتها من آلية الفكر اللاهوتي- السياسي وتؤجج مقولة “صراع الحضارات” ومخاوف الغربيين من سقوط “حضارتهم” بين أيدي “البرابرة” الشرقيين! كما ينتقد ردود الفعل للفكر العربي تجاه الثقافة الغربية وفشله في فهم تعقيدات هذه الثقافة الذي يرتبط بها بعلاقة ملتبسة بين الكره الشديد من جهة والإعجاب المطلق من جهة أخرى. وقد نال هذا الكتاب اهتماماً كبيراً عند صدوره عام 2002 على اثر ما حصل في 11 أيلول/ سبتمبر 2001 في كل من نيويورك وواشنطن من عمل إرهابي ضخم تبنّاه تنظيم القاعدة بعد أسابيع قليلة. أما اليوم وفي خضم ما يحصل في العالم العربي كما العالم الغربي من انتشار الإرهاب، فإن القضايا لتي تمّ تحليلها في هذا الكتاب بعمق وموضوعية قد زادت من أهميته وصوابتيه.
